This week I gave a talk to a bunch of media customers of Salesforce.com in London. This talk was organised by Salesforce to keep their customers in TV, Print media, etc abreast of what is going on with their technology.
I was invited by Heroku to present a 15 minutes talk about how we use the Heroku platform in our games, and a little bit about where I see the future of games/gamification in relation to the media industry.
As the last one of five speakers I managed to round out the day and field a couple of questions before we all headed to Brasserie Blanc for some beers and a nice meal. There were about 40 people in the crowd from such places as the BBC, Daily Mail, FT, etc and it was good to have a chat with a bunch of them afterwards.
I was particularly interested to hear how TV4 in Sweden are running their whole “iPlayer” system using Heroku and Amazon S3, absolutely fascinating.
All in all it was a great day. Unfortunately this was a “no slides” talk so I have none to post, maybe next time :)
